SPA Tourism Conference to be Held in Plovdiv

The National Association on SPA and Wellness Tourism organizes a conference themed ‘Perspectives and Development of SPA and Wellness Tourism in Bulgaria’, where topical issues and opportunities for development of SPA and Wellness tourism industry will be discussed, organizers announced.

The conference will be held on October 23 at 1.30 pm at the Maritsa Hotel in Plovdiv.

Dozens Visit Cultural Events on the Night of Museums

Connoisseurs of fine arts crowded the museums in Plovdiv, Stara Zagora, Pazardjik and Haskovo last night when the Festival of Museums and Galleries organized by M-Tel was held.
Hundreds of expositions, concerts, workshops and performances by authors from all over the world revived the atmosphere in the Old Plovdiv. Bulgaria's Plovdiv Hosts International Technical Fair

Bulgaria's Prime Minister Sergey Stanishev officially opened the 63rd International Technical Fair in the country's second largest city of Plovdiv on Monday.

Companies from 48 countries will take part in the expo, Germany, Italy, India, and Moldova among them.

New models of cars, buses and trucks will be showed at the auto-saloon, which is to be held for sixth time in a row during the fair.

48 countries to attend Plovdiv Expo

3600 companies from 48 countries have applied for participation in the International technical Fair in Plovdiv, its director Ivan Sokolov told media. The expo will take place September 24-29 in Bulgaria’s second largest city and leading companies will present innovations and high technologies. Emphasis will be laid on tools for EU funds’ absorption.

Double Deckers launched in Plovdiv

Double-Deckers will be launched in Plovdiv in about 10 days. The busses will be like the ones in London, but they are bought from Berlin.
In the beginning the busses will be attractional and will only advertise the famous Plovdiv sightseeing spots.
The double-deckers will be launched on №29 route and will have 120 places - 70 of them will be seating places. So far in Bulgaria there are double-deckers only in Varna.

Summer affair with the arts in Bulgaria's Plovdiv

Some sage advice for classical music lovers in Bulgaria: make plans to spend as much time as possible in Plovdiv this June. With the International Festival of Opera Arts, the International Festival of Chamber Music and the Festival of Old Town Songs, life cannot get much better for music fans. International Spring Fair Opened in Plovdiv

Bulgaria's Foreign Minister Ivaylo Kalfin opened Monday, 07 May, the International Spring Fair in the city of Plovdiv.

A total of 1274 producers of consumer and technological goods from 41 countries will take part in the expo.

"Plovdiv Fair will continue to be one of the most important expos in South-eastern Europe as it is a scene for meeting of companies from many countries around the globe," Minister Kalfin said.

New Terminal on Plovdiv airport

The government will allocate funds, to start investments for Plovdiv airport, which will support Sofia airport, announced the minister of transport Mr Petar Mutavchiev.

The modernization of the airport in Plovdiv will help for the development of tourism in Rodope Mountain and the southern parts of Bulgaria, said the minister, who was on official visit in Plovdiv, together with his Greek colleague Michael Liapis. Gold for Slivenska Perla at Vinaria Expo

Slivenska Perla rakia received two gold medals at Vinaria 2007 in Plovdiv. The producer, Vini Sliven, also won bronze for the unique wine Sliven Shevka 2006. Bulgaria's Minister of Agriculture Nihat Kabil, Plovdiv Fair CEO Georgi Gergov and the National Wine and Vine Chamber CEO Nikola Nikolov handed out the awards at the traditional ball Wine and Love, Love and Wine that took place in the Pavilion 3 of the Fair.

556 Companies Present Production at Bulgaria's Vinaria Wine Expo

Nearly 556 companies from 35 countries will take part in the International Exhibition for Vine-Growing and Wine-Producing Vinaria 2007 held in Plovdiv.
Vinaria 2007 is the 15th edition of the largest event of its kind in the Central and Southeastern Europe, Focus news agency reported.
